Venetian plaster is significantly more durable than standard emulsion paint. Applied in multiple layers of aged lime putty and fine marble dust, it creates a hard, breathable surface that resists scuffing, marks, and moisture. It develops a beautiful patina over time rather than deteriorating, and minor marks can be burnished out without repainting. In high-traffic areas such as entrance halls, it outperforms paint by decades.

Yes. Microcement is inherently waterproof when applied over an integrated membrane system and sealed correctly. Applied at just two to three millimetres thickness, it creates a seamless, grout-free surface ideal for shower enclosures, wet room floors, and bathroom walls. It can be applied directly over existing tiles, eliminating the need for demolition and reducing project time considerably.

The terms are often used interchangeably, but strictly, Venetian plaster refers to the traditional Italian technique using natural lime putty and marble dust, burnished to a high sheen. Polished plaster is a broader term that includes synthetic and acrylic-based products.
